Proverbs 1:20-33 | Forsaking Foolishness

Proverbs talks about fools a lot. And as you read through the book, you gradually get Solomon’s definition of a fool: someone who lives in opposition to God and the order of the universe he’s created.

Proverbs 1:8-19 | Sin: Enticing But Never Satisfying

Proverbs 1:10 offers some sound advice for all of life. In this verse, we hear a father’s words to his son, and the father says, “if sinners entice you, don’t be persuaded.” There are a few truths in here that we need to see.

Acts 28:30-31 | THE END???

Despite this chapter being the ending of Acts, this really is just a beginning. The ending begs the question: “How does my life story fit into God’s story for redemption?”

Acts 28:23-28 | Forfeiting the Truth

When you hear the beautiful message of the Gospel, don’t just listen with your ears, listen with your heart. Get past the offense of your bruised pride and give God your humility and your need. Then hope in Christ…for this hope does not disappoint!

Acts 28:17-22 | Faithful to the Mission

It could take longer than we want and it could be tougher than we expect, but keep faithful to the mission God has set for you. It is your mission at home, at school, at work–it is our mission to tell people of the good news and to glorify God with our lives.

Acts 28:7-16 | Put God’s Word to Work

If you’re trying to reach out to a friend or coworker, don’t be afraid to put God’s word to work. Share one key verse or one short account with that person, and then declare the powerful truth from it. The gospel (which is God’s word) has the power that mere human rationale does not.

Acts 28:1-6 | Strength Through Weakness

Sometimes, God will give you success and comfort in life. Sometimes, he’ll give you insults, hardships, persecutions, and difficulties. All of this will make you feel weak in life, but that’s what will make God strong in your life.

Acts 27:13-44 | Faith is Knowing

Faith is far from a stab in the dark. It is the confident assurance that God is who he says he is and will do what he says he will do. Faith is trusting in the God who is trustworthy. Faith is believing God and his word because you know that our God will never fail to keep it.

Acts 27:1-12 | Sharing What You Know

I want us to be faithful to tell people that God puts in our path daily the love that Christ has for us and how he transforms us.  We know that God is in control of who does and doesn’t believe in His son, Jesus.  Yet, God uses us to be his messengers of spreading the Good News of what Jesus did for us on the cross.
