I am sure of this, that he who started a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

What would it look like if 100% of the people who call Harbor their home committed to pursuing the next steps God has for us … until the day?

SERMONS FROM THE SERIES

Whether we realize it or not, we’re all leaving a legacy, something that lasts after we’re gone. A lot of people chase wealth or success to build their legacy, but…
When you hear the word “worship,” you probably think about the epic songs we sing on Sunday morning, or the playlist you fire up when you’re stuck in traffic. But…
It’s been said that it takes twenty people to lead someone to Christ. The first person thinks they had nothing to do with it, the last person thinks it was…
Do you see work as something that drains the life out of you or as something that gives life? Does your job feel like a curse or maybe an idol…
What fuels a generous life? When we're running on empty, it’s hard to give to our family, our work, our friends, or our community. But Paul reminds us that we…
In our extremely online lives, we know a lot about a lot of things. But how much have we learned about the truly important things? Eternal things? How well do…
Quick — what did you get for Christmas five years ago? You don’t remember, because most gifts don’t spark joy for more than a few days. Except for one. Jesus…

What are the things you’re sure about in life? Paul was absolutely sure of one thing: that our future is bright, because God will carry to completion the work he’s…

OUR DISCIPLESHIP JOURNEY

WHERE WE’RE GOING

100,000

PROCLAMATIONS OF THE GOSPEL

If every adult and student in our church proclaims Christ once a week over the next 4 years, we will proclaim the gospel 100,000 times. Proclaiming the gospel includes PRAYER for people and a commitment to CARE for people and SHARE Christ with our ONE MORE and other people in our lives. Imagine if we make this a way of life!

10,000

ACTS OF SERVICE IN OUR CITY

If every adult and student in our church volunteers in a ministry or community event that blesses our community every other month, we’ll engage in 10,000 acts of service over the next 4 years.

100

CHURCH PLANTS

If we all give our prayer, energy, time, and treasure to the task of multiplying churches, by God’s grace we’ll be a part of planting 100 churches over the next 20 years.

LIFE

You’re the only one who can surrender your life. As we experience refuge, redemption, and resurgence in Christ we can’t help but to offer it to those around us, all for the renown of Christ.

WHAT GOD WILL DO IN US

UNTIL THE DAY is a challenge for 100% of the people who call Harbor Church Honolulu our home to identify and pursue our next step of discipleship.

The Harbor elders have identified six areas that define a full and complete disciple. We desire every person at Harbor to grow as a:

Receiver  |  Learner  |  Giver
Worker  |  Influencer  |  Worshipper

Over the next two years, we want to encourage every Harbor attender to identify the next step God wants them to take to grow in the area where they sense God challenging them the most.

WHAT’S YOUR NEXT STEP?

Until the Day - Next Steps

WHAT GOD WILL DO THROUGH US

The elders have asked the Lord to show us what kind of impact he wants us to make for his kingdom, and we believe he’s identified three areas where he’ll move through his people over the next two years.

OUR COMMITMENT

Pray about taking part in:

  • Proclaiming the gospel 100,000 times.
  • Serving our city 10,000 times.
  • Praying for the planting of 100 churches.
  • Being 100% engaged in your discipleship journey.
  • Surrendering your life to Jesus’ next steps for you.
  • Financially supporting the mission of Harbor Church.

THE UNTIL THE DAY FUND

Churches often ask people to give a gift ‘above and beyond’ their usual gifts to make initiatives like new buildings and new ministries possible.

We believe it’s all ONE MISSION we’re on at Harbor Church: the mission to help people believe in, belong to, and become more like Jesus. So we as leadership have decided that our gifts through Harbor Church over these next two years will all go into one fund for this next season of ministry expansion.

The UNTIL THE DAY initiative will last for two years, and every gift given to Harbor Church will go to the key components of this initiative – to seek 100% engagement to see what God will do in us, and to see what God will do through us as a church body in making disciples, expanding the kingdom, and blessing the islands.

WE DESIRE EVERY PERSON AT HARBOR TO GROW AS A…

RECEIVER

We experience redemption as we receive the love of the Father, the grace of Jesus, and the power of the Spirit through desperate dependence in prayer. We continually grow in grace, holiness, and selflessness — not only for Jesus but with Jesus.

LEARNER

We study God’s word together, speaking and hearing truths in grace, engaging in spiritual practices together and encouraging each other toward next steps in our discipleship journeys.

GIVER

We use our time, talents, and treasure to love and serve our families, one another, and the world. We offer refuge and welcome Jesus-followers and unbelievers of all ages, backgrounds, cultures, and socioeconomic spheres.

WORKER

We work with dignity since God made us for work. We work hard, we play hard, and we rest well. We know that these rhythms do not happen by accident, so we work to plan them.

INFLUENCER

We pursue resurgence for our islands as we listen, learn and lean into the culture. We’re the “salt of the earth” and the “light of the world” as we seek the salvation of our ONE MORE and the transformation of our islands.

WORSHIPPER

We seek Christ’s renown in all we do, pursuing excellence by pointing all attention to him rather than ourselves.
