The holidays aren’t always joyful. Often they remind us of things we don’t have, milestones we haven’t met, and wounds that haven’t healed. But when Jesus arrived in Bethlehem, he came to refine us — to make us beautiful, acceptable, and useful. His refining fire isn’t always comfortable, but it’s always beneficial.
