Proverbs 30:1-16 | God, Our Refuge
The author of the proverb tells us that every word of God is pure. It is for our good, and we can go to God’s Word at any time for counsel, wisdom, discernment, instruction, and conviction. More than that, God is a shield to those who take refuge in him.

Even though the Lord Jesus never sinned, He still modeled for us how to submit to discipline and confess our sin to God.

Whenever we are tempted to remain angry and not reconcile with those who have wronged us, let us remember what Jesus did for us on the cross while we were still God’s enemies. Let us imitate Jesus.

So as we are rebuked and should rebuke, remember that we’re talking with another soul who is at best, and just as equally as we are, saved by grace and grace alone, despite the failings and continual sin in our lives.

Even though the situation may vary, God’s wisdom is appropriate at all times. Let’s resolve to let go and let God intervene.
Proverbs 26:17-28 | Stop Digging That Pit
If you feel oppressed, come to Jesus for rest. If you are the one oppressing others, come to Jesus and stop digging pits.

After eleven verses of proverbs describing the bad state of a fool, verse 12 comes as a punchline: A person who is unteachable is worse than that fool. Thus, in some cases, a fool may be reclaimable!

The next time you feel like retaliating when someone wrongs you, remember what Jesus did for you in spite of your sins against Him. He did not retaliate, giving you what you deserved but gave you grace instead.
