Proverbs 6:1-5 | Guard Your Money Where Your Mouth Is
Let everything we do, including who we financially associate with and how we use the resources God has given us, be for His glory.
Proverbs 5:15-23 | Stuck in Sin, Saved by Christ
Do you feel like you are so stuck in sin that you cannot break free from? God has given His Son, Jesus Christ, so that by God’s grace, through faith in Christ, you no longer are a slave to sin, but a servant of the Most High.
Proverbs 5:1-14 | Don’t Play With Sin
If you’re entertaining the thought about someone you shouldn’t be, the writer of Proverbs is telling you, “Stop it now, before it’s too late.” Wisdom calls out to you and says, “It’s not worth it!” This is the wisdom from today’s passage.
Proverbs 4:20-27 | You Have a New Heart
Everything you do in life flows from the motivations of your heart. This passage in Proverbs 4 makes that clear.
Proverbs 4:10-19 | Wisdom, Not Experience, Is the Best Teacher
You don’t have to find yourself on a path to destruction before deciding it’s not a good idea. You don’t have to wait until your experience tells you that you’ve made a bad choice. You can take the wisdom found in God’s word and trust that obedience to God is the surest way to experience a fulfilling life. Experience is not the best teacher; God’s wisdom is.
Proverbs 4:1-9 | Child, Listen Up
In today’s reading, Solomon was speaking not only to his sons, but to “sons” in general. He offers words of encouragement–that the home continues to be a prominent area of learning for children, that parents are called to persevere in teaching God’s truth, and for parents to go to God’s word daily to pass on to their children.
Proverbs 3:27-35 | The Rule That No One Follows
God promises that he is a “friend to the upright” and “blesses the home of the righteous”. This righteousness does not come from our own strength, but it is rather a gift of God. Let us do good to others not because we can get something out of it, but rather, it honors and glorifies God.
Proverbs 3:13-26 | Esher is a Man Who Finds Wisdom
Jesus’ words and teaching are the wisdom we have that is greater than silver or gold or precious jewels. The way he lived his life through the Gospels is the wisdom we can use that leads to pleasantness and peace. From Jesus, our stream of living water, the security of our salvation, and our tree of life, and not from our own “wisdom” of “doing what makes us happy” can we truly have esher.
Proverbs 3:1-12 | Trust in God
What does your heart lean on? Do you depend on God in prayer or do you try to handle problems on your own? Are you relying on your own ability or do you turn to God’s Word?
Proverbs 2 | Seek God’s Word
God’s wisdom is not some information that mysteriously downloads from Heaven and into your brain. God has revealed a lot of his wisdom in the Scriptures. So we gain wisdom by being in his word continually. We gotta seek after it.
