Gospel Doctrine Leads to Gospel Culture

In his book The Gospel: How The Church Portrays the Beauty of Christ, Ray Ortlund reminds us that a rightly applied doctrine of the gospel will lead to a gospel culture. He writes,

“It’s not enough for us to ask, does our church teach gospel doctrine? We must also ask, is our church culture clearly aligned with that gospel doctrine? For Paul, faithfulness to the to the gospel includes applying the gospel to our conduct: ‘I saw that their conduct was not in step with the truth of the gospel . . .’ [Gal 2:14a]. The gospel gives us more than a place to stand; it also leads us into a path to follow” (p. 89).

In our core values sermon series, we are unpacking the way a right doctrine of the gospel creates a gospel culture that leads to community and mission, all to the glory of God. So be sure to join us this Sunday!
