Wednesday: Prayers for the Lost

Meditate on Matthew 28: 19-20

Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,  teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.

We’ve all been asked this question before, “How did you hear about us?” Maybe it’s the new patient form at the doctor’s office, a restaurant survey, or part of the checkout process while ordering online. Chances are, your answer will be: heard about it from a family member or friend. When we are satisfied with a product or service, we want to tell others about it. Our relationship with Jesus is no different. Jesus’ love, grace, and mercy are the most satisfying things we could ever be offered, and they’re free! Through Jesus, we have hope, joy, and the promise of eternity. There is no better product, service, or offer out there. So if we are excited to share tips on sales, food, and doctors, why wouldn’t we be bursting at the seams to share the news of salvation through Jesus with the ones that we love?

As we heard in this past Sunday’s message, this is the best time of the year to talk with people about Jesus as compared to any other time of the year.  So let’s be intentional in praying for those we know who have not received Jesus into their heart.  Maybe it’s an aunty or uncle, your co-worker, or your next door neighbor.  Let’s pray for these individuals that God would draw them to a relationship with Jesus. Let’s also pray for ourselves to have boldness to speak, wisdom to know how to share, and softened hearts that weep and ache for more folks to trust in Jesus.  One of the best ways to share Jesus with others is to tell how Jesus changed your life.  Pray and ask God to open an opportunity for you to share your testimony with at least one person this week.
