Today I present to you a list, not just any list, this is a list of fifteen values that serves for all of life, for every person, in every place, in every stage. A beloved teacher gave me this list when I was a teenager, and though I couldn’t appreciate it at the time I have since found it to be timeless in its import. These values have been with me for decades now and have grown truer as the years have passed. Disagree with them if you like, scrutinize them, alter them, ignore them. But you too will find that these treasured words from a wise sage will also apply to you. I don’t know if the author of this list was a Christian or not, but nevertheless I find in them wisdom that is parallel and harmonious with sacred Scripture. If you memorize this list, or at least have it handy, you will find not a day goes by that none of these values apply.
*I would add that the Greatest Knowledge is indeed God, but most notably and specifically it is the knowledge of the Person and work of Jesus Christ.
Try them on.
