READ Romans 9:19-29

I will call Not My People, My People, and she who is Unloved, Beloved. (Romans 9:25)

Can you imagine waiting for the announcement for a lottery of $100,000,000,000? That’s one-hundred billion dollars! Wouldn’t it be amazing if the owner of the lottery announced he intentionally chose you?! How awesome!

In this passage, Paul challenges our perspective when we might question God’s choices (Rom 9:19). The Bible tells us that everyone has sinned and falls short of God’s glorious standard (Rom 3:23). Still, He continually showed His grace in saving the Old Testament Jews when they rebelled against Him (Rom 9:27) and He shows His grace in saving rebellious people who put their faith in Jesus (Rom 9:24).

We don’t know the answer to all of life’s questions, but when it comes to God showing mercy and choosing us, we should focus on our “billion dollar blessing” and look for ways that we can share this wealth with everyone around us.
