This week we’re launching a study of the Gospel of Luke, and we’re calling this series All We Need. Because the point of Luke’s gospel is to show us how Jesus came to provide everything we need for everything in life.
As one of Jesus’ closest friends Peter said, “His divine power has given us everything required for life and godliness” (2 Peter 1:3). Jesus gives us everything we need for life and godliness. Everything!
That’s difficult for some people to believe. Maybe you’re a student, and you’re struggling to survive distanced education. You’re not sure Jesus can give you all the discipline you need.
Or maybe you’ve got a new baby. You’re on three nights in a row with no sleep, and you’ve got other kids to take care of or work projects that need to get finished. You’re not sure Jesus can give you all the energy you need.
Maybe you’re older and your company is downsizing, as many are these days. You’re competing with all the young, energetic people at work to keep your job, and you’ve got no idea what other job you could get. You’re not sure Jesus can give you the resources you need.
Well, the Bible says that Jesus gives you everything you need, for all of life. And in the gospel of Luke we’ll see that clearly. So join us starting this Sunday: in-person services at 8:30 or 10:00am, or livestream service at 10:00am.
