Psalm 85 – God Brings Revival
Will you not revive us again so that your people may rejoice in you?
In today’s psalm we see the restoration of favor from God to His people. In verse 6, the psalmist makes a simple and wonderful prayer for revival. We see that revival is not man-made, but that it can come only from God. We are all encouraged to pray for revival and to pray boldly because we know that God is able to do this. Who should we pray for when we ask God for a revival? We should pray for our pastors and Christian leaders that they would preach the Gospel with great spiritual power. We should pray for the congregation and a great outpouring of the Holy Spirit on God’s people. We should pray for other churches in our community and for our community that the Holy Spirit would convict the world of sin.
When we see God at work amongst us, we will be drawn to praise and rejoice in God. God, help us to pray full of confidence knowing that you can bring a revival in our land. We will also pray boldly, pleading with God to bring a revival, especially when our world is seeking for truth and hope. We will also pray with humility, desiring God’s glory and that more and more people will praise Him. Do you believe God can bring a revival to Hawaii?
