Psalm 56 – You Have No One To Fear

by | May 9, 2020

In God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can man do to me? (Psalms 56:11)

You ever feel threatened by people? Maybe you have experienced times when you were under attack maybe physically or emotionally. Maybe you know what it’s like to have people that cannot wait for you to fail. If that’s you then you are very much like King David. King David was under attack from his enemies, he was afraid at times for his life, he had people who wanted him to fail. But throughout all of that he remained confident in God.

He says that he puts his trust in God and because of that he will not fear. Because, as David puts it, what can man do to me? What’s the worse that man can do to you? Revile you? Persecute you? Maybe even physically harm you? But as a Christian your hope goes far beyond this life. Your hope stretches into eternity where Christ has secured eternal life for you. Because of Christ you have nothing to fear. The Creator of all things, the Righteous Judge, the Eternal God is on your side. So what can man do to you? The answer: Nothing that God will not turn out for your ultimate good.
