Psalm 45 – God’s Perfect Justice
Your throne, God, is forever and ever; the scepter of your kingdom is a scepter of justice. (Psalm 45:6)
If you ever longed for justice in this life and been disappointed, you need to know one very simple truth. Although justice is sometimes enacted properly the systems of justice are filled with human beings who are finite creatures. They cannot see the end from the beginning. They cannot judge with one hundred percent accuracy. Because of that the evil may walk free and the innocent punished. The good news is that the one who ruled forever is just.
God will judge with one hundred percent accuracy. The only problem we have is that God’s justice means that sinners, which is a category that everyone in the world belongs to, will be punished. The good news is that Jesus died to take away the sins of the world. He died so that all those who believe in him would be saved. God’s righteous judgement toward sin allows us to appreciate the beauty of his grace when he forgives those who do not deserve it.Â
