Psalm 36 – Where to Receive Life
For the wellspring of life is with you. By means of your light we see light. (Psalms 36:9)
The ultimate source of all life is God. As the God of nature, he is the wellspring of natural life. Acts 17:28 reads, “In Him, we live and move and have our being.” As the God of grace, he is the wellspring of spiritual life. For all those who are in Christ Jesus, our strength and comfort comes from God who gives abundant grace. As the God of glory, he is the wellspring of eternal life. We know that those who place their hope and faith in Jesus will look forward with eager anticipation to the glorious, blessed, and eternal life with our King.
As your acquaintances have added time to reflect on life, are they trying just to survive, be safe and add days to their temporal life on earth? Will you pray for them to realize that their eternal destiny is at stake, too? Pray for them that God would bring them to the light. God is the source of light. In God, we can find truth and life. Please God, help us today to see that you give us light and through your light, we have life. When the fears of this life try to overwhelm us and darkness tries to defeat us, remind us God to run to You, and You alone, where there is the wellspring of life and light.
