Redeeming Your Quarantine Free Time
Redeeming Your Quarantine Free Time
So you’ve got a lot more free time than normal. Take a break from scrolling mindlessly on your phone, and take advantage of the opportunity. Here are a few ideas:
Grow in God’s Word
- Join us in reading a Psalm a day, and get daily encouragement from The Daily Boost, delivered every morning by the Harbor staff.
- Listen to the Bible with epic soundtracks and meaningful playlists on the Dwell App. They’ve generously made it free to Harbor attenders for the next two months.
- Start a Bible-reading plan like this one that takes you through the Bible in a year. You can either start from the beginning, or on today’s date.
Grow in Prayer
- If you haven’t prayed much before, try the practical helps in the Desiring God article, Prayer for Beginners.
- Feel like you’re always praying the same thing? Learn how to Pray Using Scripture, and you’ll never run out of new topics for prayer.
- Want to grow in prayer as an attitude and lifestyle? Read A Praying Life by Paul Miller.
Grow in Relationships
- Be intentional with your family. Play more board games. Watch some family movies. If you’re working from home, invite your kids to help (“Could you watch your little sister outside while I make this phone call?”)
- Be intentional with friends and extended family. Check in on them (particularly kupuna) to make sure they’re doing OK.
- Be intentional with your brothers and sisters in Christ. Join your community group Zoom calls. Not in a community group? Find one here.
