Psalm 2 – Jesus is King

READ PSALM 2

He said to me, “You are my Son; today I have become your Father.  Ask of me, and I will make the nations your inheritance and the ends of the earth your possession. (Psalms 2:7-8)

No matter what happens, we can trust that Jesus is still king, and the ends of the earth (which probably would have been Hawaii from the perspective of someone in Israel 3000 years ago!) are still his possession. He’s holding all things together, as Colossians 1 says. That includes everything from the earthshaking events around the world to the most intimate details of our lives. When we remember that, we’ll “rejoice with trembling” as this Psalm says. Rejoice at his goodness and grace, and tremble at his greatness and glory.
