Coronavirus Update – Friday March 13
Harbor Ohana,
Late today, the Hawaii Department of Health recommended against gatherings of 100 or more. As a matter of being responsible citizens and out of love for our neighbors (in particular our kapuna), we are CANCELLING LIVE SERVICES at Harbor Honolulu, and ALL EVENTS until further notice.
We will be moving our Sunday services to one gathering this Sunday via live-stream at 10:00am. You will be able to access the livestream at harborhonolulu.org/live.
There will be a special sermon for our turbulent times, titled “Seeing God in the Storm.”
This isn’t the same as being together with your church ohana, but you can get the most out of this livestream by taking these steps:
- Gather with your small-group or family to watch together.
- Pray in advance for God’s Spirit to move powerfully.
- Have your Bible ready.
- Remove distractions.
- Download Gospel Project curriculum here and discuss it with your keiki after the service so they can continue what they have been learning at church.
The livestream will begin approximately 5 minutes before the gathering.
At this time we’re encouraging community groups to continue meeting, as long as there are no at-risk family members in the host’s home. If possible, it’s good for us to fulfill Hebrews 10:25 and keep meeting together to encourage each other as much as possible.
God is on his throne in heaven, and we know he’s accomplishing his purpose here on earth, no matter what unfolds. Let’s keep trusting God and looking out for others!
Much love,
Matt
