The Sting is Gone

by Apr 17, 2019

This Sunday we’re celebrating how Jesus overcame the sting of death through his resurrection from the grave. That’s something to celebrate now, because the sting of death isn’t just something we experience at the end of life. It’s something we see every day.

Maybe you’ve experienced the death of a dream. You planned out the perfect career, and it hasn’t worked out. Or you thought you’d be married by this point, and you still haven’t found Mr Right or Mrs. Right. Maybe you were sure your kid was going to grow up to be the next LeBron, until you realized he had your DNA. It stings when dreams die!

Maybe you’ve experienced the death of a relationship. A friendship that faded away. A marriage that didn’t work. A family member who passed away too soon. That stings!

We experience the sting of death every day, but the good news is that Jesus empowers us to rise above the sting in the new life he gave us through his resurrection from the grave.

So bring a friend and come celebrate that with us. Get your coffee going early and join us for the sunrise service, 6am at Mother Waldron Park. Or come to our regular celebration services at the church building at 8:30am or 10:15am. We’ll have epic food in between all those services, so don’t miss it!
