Pastor-in-training
SOS Ministries

I was born in a middle income family to Mr. and Mrs. John Kalule Ssaluf in the late 60s. All I know is that I was born after the Kabaka Crisis of 1966 when the King of Buganda was exiled when the prime minister attacked the King’s palace.

I attended the nearby primary school until I completed primary seven in 1981. In 1982 I joined secondary O level which I successfully completed in 1985 with a Uganda certificate of Education.

Due to limited financial support, I did not get an opportunity to make it to higher levels of learning. As a result my father advised me to join my sisters in the business world. I felt that this was not where God was directing me at that time. So I pleaded with my father to further my education but all in vain.

So in 1986 I went to the parish priest (of the Church of Uganda) to seek for his advice. Having shown interest in the church ministry, he assigned me a church as a lay-reader.

I worked with this church as I tried to save some money for the meager income I was getting from that church.

In 1988, having saved some money, I joined Baskvvilled Theological College where I took a one-year course in preparation for ministry as a lay-reader.

On completion, I was sent back to the same church where I served for another six years, still saving to further my education. In 1994 I joined Teacher Training College, bearing a need for evangelism among the youth and children.

In 1996 I completed teacher training and I was posted as a school chaplain to one of the Christian boarding schools in the Diocese. I continued saving some money and in 2000 I joined Kyambogo University for a diploma in Special Needs Education, having realized a need to evangelize children with special needs who were excluded from the mainstream society.

I completed my degree from Kyambogo University in 2003 and then posted to church where Shannon found me in 2006, still working and saving for my bachelor of Divinity program.

Realizing the need for training in ministry, he sent me to Uganda Christian University, where he offered to pay for my training in ministry. So I am currently pursuing that until 2009.

Since I started training for ministry, I have seen God do great things in my life and also the Lord has taught me many things in preparation for his ministry. It is my prayer that God continues teaching me His will for this is how I can know the way and also it is my prayer that He takes full control of me. For being with Him is better than serving Him.
