Seeking Things Above

What are you thinking? Just before you read this, what was on your mind?

A lot of the time we let our thoughts go unguided, daydreaming, thinking about work or some trial going on. Sometimes we watch TV to zone out so we don’t have to think at all.

In our message Sunday night we learned that God wants us to fix our thinking on Him, and the rewards He has for us above. Like a training marathon runner obsessed with getting in shape, we should be fixated on the most important things, the things above.

If there is anything keeping you from doing that, then take extreme measures. Don’t let anything hold you back from seeking the things above. Be purposeful about what you spend time and money on, what you watch, who you listen to, so that you’re not hindered in your pursuit of God.

“Let us throw aside every sin that so easliy entangles us.”

No more messing around, this is serious business. If you need to make a hard choice, don’t do it alone, share it with someone else so you can make it stick.

God is waiting for you to seek Him. He is the reward.
